My family and I just moved from Georgia to Florida. The high school that I will be attending in Florida offers both AP and IB classes. The high school I went to in Georgia only offered AP courses, so I was not in the pre-IB program as a freshman. As I will be a sophomore, this is my only chance to be entered into the IB program. However, I have concerns as to whether or not colleges prefer IB vice AP. Do they have a preference? (Particularly the Ivies and Georgia colleges; I do not plan attending UF or any other Florida colleges) By being in the IB program, would I appear more attractive to colleges than if I only took AP courses? Finally, if I don't join the IB program, will that make me less attractive because my school offered it but I chose the AP pathway?
