Pre-High School: -Invited to, and attended, a gifted and talented school from 3rd-8th grade. - Took ACT in 7th Grade, did well (scores I cannot recall, did better than ~70% of high schoolers, IIRC) - Invited to (and joined) Duke Talent Identification Program - Won a State Recognition medal by Duke TIP for ACT scores - Took PSAT in 8th grade (CR:55) (MATH:51) (WRIT:53) (~1590/2400) (~1060/1600) - Awarded various honor rolls for a couple years. Freshman year: - Took all Honors classes (except for PE and AP Human Geography) - Received a 5 on AP Human Geography Exam Sophomore year: -Took all Honors classes (except for Sociology/Law Education, Drama 1, and AP European History) - Received a 5 on AP Euro Exam - Joined Beta Club, served 40 service hours - Was the lead in Drama's Spring Production - Took the PSAT (CR:64) (MATH:59) (WRIT:60) (~1830/2400) (~1230/1600) What Junior year looks like: - AP Classes: AP Stat, AP Language/Composition, AP US History, AP Chemistry, - Honors: Pre-calculus - Electives: Film Criticism, Drama 2 (will try to seek director/leader position) - Hopefully invited to the National Honors Society - Continuing Beta Club service GPA so far: 3.6-3.8 Aspiring Major: Political Science Aspiring Minor: Philosophy or History Dream School: Vanderbilt So, how likely is it that I would be accepted to Vanderbilt (ED 1), Duke (Possibly ED 2), Clemson, and South Carolina? I understand that my PSAT is quite poor for Vanderbilt standards. How can I improve for the real deal? Should I contact Vanderbilt's regional officer or whatever for my state? If so, what should I say? Do my extracurriculars need improvement? What can I do?
