Hello everyone,
I go to a Florida community college and I am looking to transfer into any one of the following institutions for the spring semester. All of the schools listed will accept spring transfers.
PROSPECTIVE LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE (all of these schools superscore the ACT)
Amherst College
Bowdoin College
Middlebury College
Pomona College
Vassar College
Hamilton College
Grinnell College
Wesleyan University
Colgate university
Oberlin College
PROSPECTIVE PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES
Northwestern University
Cornell University
Vanderbilt University
Emory University
Carnegie Mellon University
University of Southern California
Wake Forest University
Boston College
New York University
Okay, so basically I decided it would be a smart idea to finish up my A.A. a semester after high school since I already had so much dual enrollment completed. Now, I am aware that attempting to transfer into schools for the spring is very HARD, haha. Not a very smart idea. Here are my stats at the moment.
College GPA: 3.95 (50 credits at the moments, will exceed 60 by the end of the fall semester)
Composite ACT: 28 (yeah, not so great but i don't have money to spend on test prep)
Superscore ACT: 31 (this is a little better because all of the liberal arts colleges on the list superscore the ACT)
Extracurriculars: President of Psychology club, Phi Beta Kappa, Student Government member, Autism activism.
Recommendation Letters
1: From the chair of the psychology department, it is really a glowing letter. I took abnormal psych and personality psych with him. He's a nice guy.
2: From a teacher at my high school who also taught me a community college class, he discusses how I was a great student body president and how I got the highest grade in his introduction to psychology class.
3: From my chess coach, he tells how I got 1st place in dozens of state chess tournaments during high school and our experiences at the state event and a national tournament.
Hooks: I dunno, I am a minority and I have an autism-related condition so I don't know if that could be incorporated into my application. I went to a special education high school during freshman and sophomore year for this but they probably don't care about that.
Do you guys have any suggestions on how I should go about this? I would really appreciate where you guys think I have a really high chance of being admitted, a good chance of being admitted, and a low chance of being admitted. Many thanks!
