I am currently a High School Junior looking for a good College/University that offers Computer Science and Video Game Dev. A little bit about myself:
-Ethnicity: Asian (Pakistani-American)
-High School GPA: 3.9
-SAT/ACT: Not taken yet
-Advanced Classes: AP Comp Sci; 3 credits for Digital Art from SUNY Farmingdale.
-Extracurriculars: Part of the school's Mouse Squad chapter and USFIRST FTC Robotics Team
-Sports: Cricket
Colleges that seem like a good fit for me (can be wrong; thats why I ask here :P), which are in no particular order :
-Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
-Rochester Institute of Technology
-Drexel University
-Northeastern University
Stuff to consider when choosing a college (Most important to least important) :
-Location (More near = better)
-Tuition after any aid/scholarship etc.
-Quality of education
-Quality of lifestyle in case I have to dorm
Now in a perfect world I'd try to apply for all top colleges but since my family being a relatively poor, traditional one, I have to consider more about location and tuition than quality of education.
I also have to opportunity to receive 3 credits for Computer Science from St. John's Uni thru their College Advantage Program but I'm not entirely sure if I should pay for it. Your thoughts?
I appreciate any and all help I get from you guys :)
