Hi, I'm going to be graduating next year, and I wanted to know if you could help me think of some good places to apply to that were on par with my academic preference.
SAT: 2120 (770 CR, 710 M, 640 W)
SAT US History: 760
SAT Math II: 630
ACT: 32 ( 34 E, 30 M, 34 R, 29 S)
Unweighted GPA: 3.9853
Weighted GPA: 4.5735
Class Rank: 12/347
I'm in Model UN, Student Council, and Gay-Straight Alliance, and I have leadership positions in the former two. My biggest area I'm lacking in would probably be community service, which I have almost none of.
Also, my parents have all but said that they refuse to support me if I don't stay in the eastern US, though they've been okay with places as far wast as the University of Chicago. I live in North Carolina, so I probably have an advantage in any UNC school.
I want to get a bachelors degree in economics first. Then, I would like to apply to law school. But I'll only do that if I can get in the top twenty five law schools, so I have decent employment chances. If I can't I want to get further education in economics.
My stretch school is Duke, because of their law school. My "safety" school would probably be UNC Chapel Hill. An even safer choice would be Appalachian State University. Almost my entire family has gone there, so I feel pretty good about my chances. However, I really want to get away, so that would be may last ditch choice.
Otherwise, I have no clue about where to apply. I'd like to leave NC for some more prestigious schools in the North East or Midwest, but I don't know where to start.
